BABA YAGA-AUTHENTIC EASTERN EUROPEAN CUISINE!!

                                          BABA YAGA
We walked into a beautiful garden where tables dressed in white table cloths and an uber talented jazz singer awaited us. There are indoor tables as well, but with such great warm summer breeze, beautiful trees and jazz ,we opted, obviously, to sit outside.

Very cozy atmosphere, even with all the Baba Yaga's (witches) all around us (not real ones but dolls, on the other hand' there might have been some real ones as well, who knows ? ;)). We couldn't wait to start our unique culinary journey in this noteworthy eatery.

We started with the Traditional Mixed Pickles- white cabbage, cucumbers and tomatoes, Homemade Rye Bread- served with garlic and dill butter, Gravlax- Cured Salmon, a classic Scandinavian dish served with potato pancakes and Garlic and Dill cream cheese, which was sensational, Varenikis- russian dumplings stuffed with fried onions and mashed potatoes served with sour cream and butter, absolutely scrumptious, Borscht Soup- traditional Ukrainian red beetroot soup with diced beef, onions, carrots, white cabbage, potatoes and tomatoes, served with homemade rye bread , garlic and dill butter and sour cream. The soup was so succulent it should totally be illegal!! Oh ! and the Uha- clear fish soup with chunks of fish, onions, carrots and parsley, light and dainty.

For our delicious entrees- Mediterranean Sea Bass Fillet- lightly creamed in Bechamel Sauce, served in custom made terracotta dish with ratatouille and red caviar.

Beef Fillet Medallions- served with three sauces and mashed potatoes, utterly melts in your mouth

and the Filet Mignon- cooked to order, served with wild berry sauce and mashed potatoes, super velvety!

For our very sweet tooth we had the Russian cherry Verenikis- superb! It gave us a pleasant floating sensation.

Baba Yaga is an outstanding Eastern European restaurant with masterful authentic dishes. A must go for everyone! From family celebrations, business meeting or dates, Baba Yaga is the place to go.
Hey, and for all you single Baba Yagas  maybe you can sink your nails into a dining Oligarch.
Worth a try ;))

DERBY FISH BAR!! DELICIOUS!!

Derby Bar Dagim!

Located at the beautiful port of Tel Aviv, sits the trendy Derby Bar fish restaurant.
Architect Yaron Tal (younger brother of the famous T.V host Erez Tal) designed the beautiful restaurant. The restaurant seats 250 diners at a time with tables indoors and outdoors.  We decided to sit outside so we can see the beautiful view and enjoy the wonderful sea breeze.

As soon as we sat down, our sweet waitress brought out a selection of delicious salads which consisted of fresh chopped Israeli salad, taramasalate, fried cauliflower, fried eggplants, beets, tahini, fresh out of the oven bread, roasted garlic (a favorite for us Romanians) and salsa. Each time one of the salads were finished our waitress brought out refills. All the salads were aromatic and sensational!

While waiting for our main course, it became chilly. Lucky for us, Derby restaurant offers their diners cozy blankets!

For our main course we ordered the Lavrak (European Sea Bass) with crispy, slightly herbed roasted potatoes, Denise Fish (Sea Bream) which was totally ambrosial and a dish of mixed Shrimps and Calamari, a total gangbang of flavors.

For our sweet tooth we ordered the Halva dish,  House Biscuit cake and the Swiss delight which were all sweet and delish!.
In Israel you cannot end your meal without a cup of fresh mint tea ( Nana leaves) which of course we had.

Great place for healthy, delectable cuisine , wonderful sea breeze and fun people watching.
Highly recommended for family occasions , birthday celebrations and just to come in  and eat healthy fresh Mediterranean food!

SEXY FOOD!!

                                                                                               ARIA

Seductive restaurant with dimmed lighting and elegant clientele. We arrived at around 8pm and decided to order from the tasting menu. You get to choose seven dishes and two desserts at a price of 128 shekels per person.

Our favorites were the Scallops on Black Rissoto and Crab Sauce-  the scallops were soft and tender little balls of pure pleasure in our mouths, the Tartar- (drum fish) was fresh and gingery, over the black tobico, gave us bursts of oral orgasms one after the other. The Ravioli with Foie Gras and glazed rum was tres scrumptious. The Velvety Artichoke Soup- was creamy and caressed our tongues gently.

For dessert we ordered the Nemesis- tonka beans, nemesis with caramelized sea salt, burnt marshmallows, coco beans, crumble and vanilla ice cream, was so delicious it was beddable!. The Mascarpone Cream and Red Berries- Vanilla Mascarpone cream, with almond crumble, meringue kisses and red berries confiture - when the mascarpone reaches your tongue you feel like you are sitting on a cloud surrounded by angels that kiss you and make your heart bleed jelly.

The bartender spoiled us with delicious cocktails called ElderFlower Collins- just a sip makes you feel tipsy, vaben style (oxazepam) if you know what we mean ;)- while it was raining outside, we were sipping our ElderFlower Collins and we felt we were on a beach in Saint Tropez with great chill out music and comfortable ambience.

Aria is a great place to go on dates, celebrate an occassion or just go for an upscale delectable meal in the heart of one of the sexiest cities on the planet - TEL AVIV.

Be sure to ask for the darling waitress Mika ;)

CHEF GUY GAMZO

Chef of Aria Restaurant

1. What is you favorite dish on the menu? My favorite dish on the menu is the Spicy Calamari Salad, I love the combination of the fresh Calamari, with yougurt and mint together with spicy chillies.

2. What inspired you to become a chef? I was always drawn to the kitchen. As a child I used to watch my mother cook and always helped her, asked her questions and was fascinated by food.

3.What would you cook to impress a girl?  Luckily I do not need to impress girls anymore but what I made to win my wife over was Coquilles Saint Jacques on white almond cream and Blue-crab bisque. I made it for her a few years back and we always said that when I have my own restaurant it will have to be on the menu.
