Keton has been a trademark restaurant in Tel Aviv since the 1940's. Many of Keton's regulars were famous writers, painters, artists and actors. Keton kept a guest book throught all the years where important Israeli figures drew pictures, wrote poems and love letters. People such as Menashe Kadishman, Yigal Tumarkin and many more wrote in the guest book. All these wonderful memories are displayed on the restaurant's wall. Such a unique treat!!!
We started with the FISH ROE SALAD- light , fluffy and perfectly made, CHOPPED LIVER -seriously cannot get any better!, VARENIKIS- melt in your mouth delicious, Homemade PICKLED VEGETABLES , BREAD AND VEGETARIAN KNISH.
For our main dishes- THE VEAL TONGUE with side dishes of mashed potatoes and givetch was decadent and delicious, SOLE FISH SCHNITZEL with side dishes of mashed potatoes and givetch, crunchy, meaty, and fun to eat (especially for kids) , BEEF IN GRAVY with a side dish of mashed potatoes and steamed cabbage- fantasticly cooked and seasoned perfectly.
For our sweet tooth we ordered the major delicious BISCUIT CAKE- sweet, creamy and light ,the FRUIT COMPOTE- a wonderfully fresh dessert made out of whole or pieces of fruit in sugar syrup. The fruits are cooked in water with sugar and spices. Very refreshing and healthy!
Keton serves cuisine that didn't only made love to our palates but also satisfied our tummies as well. Cozy and unpretentious, Bohemian smart and homemade yet you can still watch all the chic passerbyers on dizengoff street , absolutely pleasurable in every way. Top notch food and wonderful service where long time loyal customers come every weekend as well as new hungry , interested clients as well!
